Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!  I have truly never laughed so hard at a photo shoot!  Yesterday, I was outside doing a senior session for John, when this old man walks by and starts talking our legs off about how he likes "to pick up women"…In his own words he said, "I like to pick them up…and lay them down!!!!!!!"  Sorry, if he’s anybody’s grandpa!

So…this isn’t exactly what I had in mind when I said "Senior" pictures, but, oh well…

This is a little one I’ve known since BEFORE birth…can I say that if I photographed her mommy’s belly?  Meet little Kaylee.  I keep a smile on my face every time I see her because she is so full of sunshine!

Window light, favorite green chair, girl named Kaylee…be inspired…

Stacey - You know I love these because she is my little sunshine and they are wonderful captures. I love these and can’t wait to get my hands on them. I love all your work and I am inspired. Thanks again so much Suzanne.

I get obsessed with different lighting sources…I enjoy shooting with beautiful backlight, beautiful window light can also get my pulse racing…I tend to get bored with studio light, because it’s just the same thing over and over.  Natural light, on the other hand, is constantly changing, with the time of day, the direction it comes from, the color it casts on my subjects, etc…natural light is my constant craving, and I approach it like one does a math problem…I study it first, work it out a little in my head, then in the camera, adding and subtracting light from my subject until I find that "sweet spot"…

My latest discovery…sunflare…I get it at the beach everytime I go, but have been hesitant to experiment with it at home…but here are a couple of shots I just love, notice the beautiful sunflare in each of these.  The last is probably my fav because they were having a spitting contest and I always try to tell a story with a photograph, even during my light experiments.

Oh, how we love our babies!  Meet Lori and Caden…they have been to the studio in the past couple of weeks and my camera LOVES them!  These are my favorites from the session…Lori had been wiping Caden’s nose, and when she got finished I snapped these, she didn’t really plan on being in any of the pictures, which is why they are so beautiful.  These are honest moments between Lori and her son, not contrived, and I am so honored to have been the one to capture it…
